White hand playing ukulele

Ukulele for Beginners

This program is for beginners who are newer to the instrument, where participants will review basic concepts such as holding the instrument, tuning, forming chords, and learning how to strum rhythms. A goal of this class is to learn to play simple songs in a group format and have fun with others.

Duo Lessons

Taking duo music lessons offers a dynamic and collaborative learning experience, allowing students to engage with peers, share insights, and motivate each other while developing their skills. This group setting fosters a sense of community and can enhance creativity, making the learning process more enjoyable and interactive compared to solo lessons. Can also be 3 person lessons!

Guitar Strummers℠

This ensemble workshop is for adults who’ve been playing on their own for a while and want to make the next step into playing in a like minded group format, with focus being on interaction, fun, and balanced playing. Music stands are needed by the players, chairs provided in a comfortable atmosphere.

Another great feature of the Strummers is that this is also a guitar hobbyist’s forum; we talk shop, bring interesting and different guitars and amps, and that adds to the enjoyment and appreciation of the experience.

Our group, the Ukestra, organized and led by Mike, is just a lot of fun! It’s very laid back, and we sing and play all sorts of songs. Mike is always there to help us with unusual chord fingerings, and to suggest a way to attack a new passage.

Bill B.

Mike made me feel very welcome and has a natural and professional way of leading the Ukestra. Mike makes music fun and interesting, and is always there to lend a helping hand if needed.

Melissa M.

Mike is also outstanding as a group facilitator. As the host of the UKESTRA, he has created a space where novices and experts of all ages and backgrounds enjoy playing the ukulele and learning from each other.
